Vintage Lamps & Chandeliers
Vintage lamps, chandeliers, wall lights and ceiling fixtures. Lighting is the quickest way to change a room, and the pieces here have far more character than anything off a big-box shelf.

Buying vintage lamps: wiring, shades and scale
Vintage lamps are among the quickest ways to change a room, and they are rarely sold with their original shade. Ask whether a lamp has been rewired, and plan on a new shade sized to the base: a good rule of thumb is a shade roughly as wide as the lamp is tall, or a little less.
If you need a matching pair for a console or a pair of nightstands, check the listing for exactly what is included. Many of our lamps are single pieces, and some come as pairs.
Antique chandeliers, sconces and ceiling fixtures
For a chandelier, measure the drop and the diameter, and the height of the ceiling beneath it. Crystal, gilt metal, wrought iron and glass each give a different mood, from formal to relaxed. Wall lights and sconces are the easiest antique lighting to place, because they use no floor or table space at all.
