How to choose vintage chairs
Start with the frame. A good vintage chair feels solid when you sit and shift your weight; joints that creak or rock are worth asking about before you buy, and the listing photos usually show the legs, stretchers and underside.
Then think about scale. Measure the space the chair must fit, and compare the width, depth and seat height in the listing with a chair you already own. Many of our vintage chairs are sold as a pair, which is worth knowing if you are furnishing a living room or a dining table.
Armchairs, slipper chairs, daybeds and sofas
Slipper chairs, with their low seats and no arms, suit bedrooms and small sitting areas. Armchairs and club chairs anchor a living room. Daybeds and benches do double duty at the end of a bed or beneath a window, and the occasional sofa turns up for rooms that need one great statement piece.
Upholstery is easy to change. If you love a shape but not the fabric, a good upholsterer can transform it, so judge the lines and the frame first. Look through the vintage tables and cabinets to complete the room.

About Seating at Circa Now!
Chairs, benches, daybeds and the occasional sofa make up this collection, and almost all of it is one of a kind: a pair of slipper chairs, a Regency bench, a set of rattan dining chairs, a French cane daybed. Because there is rarely a second one, the photographs, measurements and description of condition on each listing matter, and you will find all three.
