Unique little mortar and pestle from the 19th Century. The mortar is imprinted with 'Jabez Burns & Sons New York.' Both pieces are made of maple and turned on a lathe. Jabez Burns founded a coffee roaster in 1864 and is important in the history of American coffee. A wonderful piece of history and a great gift for the coffee enthusiast.

Mortar measures 1-3/4" diameter x 3" high.
Pestle measures 3/4" diameter x 3-1/2" long.
