Rare antique 'Riley Whiting' eight-day wind mantel clock from the 1800's. It is beautifully constructed of mahogany with three brass top finials and a glass door. There is a reverse painted landscape design likely added after manufacturer. Inside is a hand painted clock face, brass pendulum and the Riley Whiting label. It includes a key to wind the clock and miscellaneous paperwork offering some information and provenance. The clock can be wound and does tick and chime. Unfortunately, it does not keep time. The clock mechanism was changed at some point as you can see the filled in holes on the face. It's truly a lovely piece of history for your home and very collectible.
